Gordon Frazer was appointed managing director of Microsoft’s UK subsidiary in 2006.
Having joined Microsoft South Africa in 1995, in 1997 Frazer became director of Microsoft South Africa’s Enterprise & Partner Group. Under his leadership sales gains of 70-80 per cent a year were achieved in the SQL Server™ product line.
Frazer also pioneered a Microsoft South Africa first – Developer Days (a format for personal interaction with the developer community). The first Developer Day was attended by 150 people; today attendance regularly tops 1,200.
In 2001 Frazer was awarded the Outstanding Contributor Award at Microsoft’s global sales convention. He won the Leadership Award the same year. Gordon was appointed as General Manager Microsoft, South Africa in 2002.
Before joining Microsoft South Africa, Frazer was technical director of SX Software Engineering and a business analyst at Anglo American and Nedfin Group.
